We love this babes self love and empowerment work, and she has some amazing tips on her instagram @bodyposimommy. As always we asked her to dive into some juicy questions so you can get to know here better, meet Soshy!
What is intuitive eating and the Health at Every Size approach? How did you get started in nutrition?
My definition of IE is to eat when you’re hungry, stop when you’re full, eat food that you LOVE and eat food that feels good in your body. Health At Every Size is helping my clients understand that the feeling of being healthy does not have to mean being in a thin body. The ‘healthy you’, starts exactly where you are which can make you feel better immediately.
It’s important for people to understand that you can and should, feel healthy in different body sizes since our bodies will change many times, throughout our life. Instead of fighting it, let’s learn how to live in it. I got started doing this work because of a picture I saw of myself when I was 19. For some crazy reason I felt like I needed to lose weight and got stuck on a six year chronic diet cycle trap. It wasn’t until I decided to quit dieting and accept my body exactly as it was that I really healed my relationship with food through the practice of Intuitive Eating and Body Acceptance and have never looked back since. Now I’m passionate to help women who are going through the same thing.
If you could give your 19 year old self one piece of advice, what would it be?
One day you’re going to look at that picture of yourself that you think you look bad in, and think that actually looked beautiful. Enjoy yourself. Enjoy your body. Have fun as much as possible.
What is your favourite self care ritual?
Hiking, reading, tech free days, boiling hot showers, having good conversations with my husband.
What books are you LOVING right now?
Atomic Habits by James Clear. It’s the best and most practical book I have ever read about how to change your habits. A lot of what he writes about, I use in my style of coaching. Think; Small tiny steps accumulated over a long period of time, result in true long term change.
If you could have one superpower what would it be?
I could have unlimited motivation and focus without getting distracted or insecure.. OMG what could I accomplish?? Currently working on it!
What is your favourite quote?
Most people overestimate what they can do in a year and they underestimate what they can do in two or three decades- Tony Robbins. Can you tell I’m passionate about slow change?
You can keep up with Soshy on Instagram at @bodyposimommy!
