Femme Feature: Trisha Enriquez

Posted by Jaclyn Shaw on

Meet this week’s inspiring Femme Feature babe, Trisha Enriquez of @NoTummyMommy!

This Toronto mama is a pre and post-natal fitness specialist and blogger (hello mamas!) She’s passionate about helping other women live their healthiest lives and is inspired daily to show up fully and lead by example thanks to her two beautiful daughters.

We love this babe’s raw energy, her get-in-my-tummy healthy recipes 👅, and her badass workout vids featuring her cutest little darlings! (They may even rock matching outfits, just sayin😍)

Meet Trisha!

Tell us about yourself! Where are you from? What do you do?

I am from Toronto but grew up just outside of the small town of Uxbridge. Despite being a "country girl", I think I am a city girl at heart. I don't see myself ever leaving the city. We may live in a small home downtown, but as long we have each other it's all we need! I am a pre- and post-natal fitness specialist and blogger. I also work a full-time job in medical sales, which a lot of people don't know! Most importantly, I am a mother of two girls - Harper and Noa.

I came to Toronto for University and loved the energy of the city. I'm not bothered by the sound of streetcars or people outside at night that I can hear from my window - it gives me life! I love this city for so many reasons - there is so much diversity and culture, but most of all I feel so lucky to have unique and incredible restaurants that range from healthy to over-the-top indulgent (#noregrets ever). My favorite part of the city? I might live in Leslieville, but I've always admired the vibe of Kensington Market. My husband and I love it so much that our second daughter's middle name is Kensington.

How did you get started with No Tummy Mommy?

I have always had a love for fitness, but it was on my first mat leave that I started to share my journey on a blog, while also enjoying helping other women be happier and healthier mamas! I actually started helping moms that I would randomly meet at drop-in centers during my mat leave because they simply would ask about my healthy packed lunch. I would share little tips and tricks for healthy snacking, as well as short exercises they could do at home with their kiddies. I knew that I was happier when I was my healthiest and when I was taking care of myself. I realized just how easy it was to put ourselves on the back burner and when that happens, I swear the whole family feels it! Self-care is key!!

What does it mean to you to be a positive health advocate for women?

It's important to support one another because we are all in this together. We all can relate to those sleepless nights and mornings when you have to heat up your coffee more than once. We are all trying to survive, so why not survive together?!? I know that if I can help a woman be the best version of herself, she will be happy and if she's happy, then the baby is happy too. I hope to be viewed as someone a mother can trust and relate to. I try and provide support and value to women who want to live a healthier lifestyle.

Who is your biggest inspiration?

My daughters, of course. They inspire me to be the best version of myself daily. Having daughters reminds me daily just how important it is to be a strong woman and to never be afraid to go after what you want. I feel this way because this is exactly how I want them to be and feel. The biggest lesson they have taught me is the power of presence. There is nothing greater than spending quality time and I see it in their faces when mommy is giving them 100% attention.

What is your go-to self-care routine?

I love a good sweat, a relaxing man/pedi and a few moments of meditation. Setting time aside for self-care is important because it gives me time to reset, ground myself and be prepared for whatever the universe has coming my way! This could mean anything from juggling an overflowing email inbox to managing back-to-back dirty diapers!

Where can we find you on a Sunday in the city?

Probably doing work on my computer with a glass of red wine in hand.

If you could have any superpower what would it be and why?

Teleportation. I would love to be able to get to a beach in Mexico in a hot second and then back home to my own bed the next.

What is your favorite quote?

"Everything you want is already yours."
